Report of National Seminar on “Role of Digital
Sources in Social Sciences” Under the competent advice and directions of Principal,
Prof.(Dr.) Edward Masih, one day National seminar on ‘Role
of Digital Sources in Social Sciences’ was organized on
march 5, 2018 under the aegis of Dr. Ram Singh Library,
Baring Union Christian College, Batala in collaboration with
Indian council of Social Science Research. Dr. Ritu Pandhi
Nayyar, Assistant professor, Department of economics was
the convener of the seminar. This national seminar was
presided over by Rt. Rev. Bishop Dr. P. K. Samanta Roy,
Chairman, BUCCA. Dr. H.S. Chopra, Former Librarian,
GNDU was Keynote Addresses. This seminar was attended
by 64 delegates who came from different states i.e. U.P.,
Maharashtra, Chandigarh and Punjab itself.
While addressing the audience, Principal Prof.(Dr.) Edward
Masih emphasizes on challenges being faced by library
professionals and teachers in the present scenario and
brought into notice of everyone that if everything would be
digitized then what would the future of Libraries, Librarians
and teachers. He emphasized the need to make libraries
students friendly.
Participates shared their views on the different topics related
to the title of the seminar. One of the paper presenters
focused on the future need for changes in academic libraries,
trends and challenges in the e-learning environment.
This seminar culminated with vote of thanks by convener of
the seminar.
